Darn, I was really getting swept up by the political rhetoric. I was sure that either the current administration, or one of the aspiring candidates, was ready to step up to the plate and knock a new health plan out of the park! However, this one may be more of a bunt.

It may not all be the politicos fault, according the Health Affairs Blog. A lot of resistance is coming from medical professionals. As a group, they have not come to any clear agreement on how to solve the increasing health care crisis in the US. Doctors and Hospitals are refusing reform, and bitterly disagree - even with each other - on how to advance our health care system.

Insured, middle class Americans are shouldering an increasing load in higher shares of the medical insurance bill, higher deductibles, higher copays, and less coverage. The poor and working poor are doing without health insurance. Of all of the advanced nations, we seem unable to assure our citizens of access to health care. And now, after believing that Superman was right around the corner to solve this problem, I believe I may have just seen a shadow.
